Fall in Aw held September 25, 2006

At our showroom in Lynnwood, WA we held a festival of plantings, pottery, food and drumming for over 200 of our customers and guests.
We began the afternoon with a wine and cheese social in our newly acquired building (next door to our existing one), followed by a speech by Lee Lang Aw entitled Clay in the Blood - The Ceramic Heritage of Aw.

Christian Arthur provided wonderful intermission music and then Richard Hartlage presented Trends in Contemporary Landscape Architecture and How They Influence Our Practice.
A light buffet dinner was served featuring dishes from several of the ethnicities represented here at Aw Pottery. Malaysian, Vietnamese, Filipino, Chinese, Mexican, Indonesian and American recipies, among others. As dinner wound down, the famous drum group One World Taiko gave us a performance that had everyone foot-tapping.
The evening wrapped up with drumming by Rhythm Church, an Afro-Brazilian drum circle and a Fire Dance by Maxwell Starkhouse. Regrettably, we didn't get any photos to show here.

Our 2nd Annual Planted Pot Contest was a great success, with over a dozen beautiful and creative entries.
