Contain Yourself / Spring Fling held March 22, 2005

At our showroom in Lynnwood, WA we hosted an afternoon of seminars
and unique merchandise for about 60 of our customers' representatives and guests.

Nancy Elvebak from Bellingham's The Garden Spot nursery discussed with us the role of container planting in Scratch Your Itch for Kitsch.

Mi Wu, celebrated ceramic artist and professor of ceramics at Edmonds and Bellevue community colleges, joined Aw's Chris Jacobs in a lively discussion. Topics included the history and making of pottery, differences in clay mixtures and glazes, and folk tales too. Audience members were invited to create their own sculptures, and Lee Lang Aw demonstrated the making of a pot using the coil technique.

Ciscoe Morris wrapped up the afternoon with very entertaining storytelling we call A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Garden. Everyone learned a few things about horticulture and bugs, and a great time was had by all. After his presentation, the winners of our First Annual Container Gardening Contest were announced.

Note about movie files:
These files are huge, six to 60 MB, and relatively short - two to 14 minutes. The sound quality isn't very good, either.
They open in a separate window so you can keep browsing while they load. In our tests, the smaller movie clips took two to four minutes to download using broadband. Dial-up users should probably skip them entirely.
